Job Description

Music faculty will plan and facilitate group lessons and be present at the end-of-session recitals. Knowledge of classroom management techniques, consistent communication, and creating a positive classroom environment that supports student success is essential to this position.

Part-time music faculty teach during our fall, winter/spring, and summer programs. Hours vary depending on our program schedules and student needs, ranging from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We are specifically looking for instructors versed in piano, guitar, and voice (additional instrument preferred) for beginner to intermediate level students.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate private music lessons in piano, guitar and/or voice for children and adults.
  • Create and facilitate group classes for children and adults.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to confirm student and class schedules and address student and parent questions or concerns.
  • Utilize sound pedagogy and age appropriate content, materials, and assessment methods.
  • Attend end-of-session music recitals (December and May).
  • Attend music faculty meetings and training sessions as required.

Job Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Education, training, and experience in music education and performance in your area of specialization.
  • Experience working with a wide range of ages and abilities.
  • Experience working with groups and in private instruction environments.
  • Teaching experience in the area of music / your area of specialization. Classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to teach more than one age group or instrument a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
