The old adage, “the best offense is a good defense” doesn’t just apply to sports, but to business as well. There are several steps an employer may take to avoid getting hit with discrimination charges or employee lawsuits, and to put your company in the best position if a suit is filed. Jennifer will discuss the basic policies, training and documents that every company should have in place, and how these can help fend off employee claims.

Attorney Jennifer Corso, Partner at Petronzio Schneier Co., LPA, has represented small business owners in labor & employment law for over 25 years.  Her work ranges from employee handbook drafting & legal review, employee and supervisor training, to employer representation in workers’ compensation and unemployment claims, to legal defense of harassment and discrimination claims in state and federal courts.  Jennifer is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Labor and Employment Law.  She has written several articles and spoken at numerous seminars and to community business groups on employment law topics, including COSE’s Small Business Conference.

Jennifer has been named both a “Super Lawyer” (2015-2023) and a “Rising Star Super Lawyer” (2005) by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine, which identifies outstanding Ohio lawyers who have demonstrated superior professional potential.
